Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Annabella Bogart is a senior at the University at Buffalo majoring in Psychology and Law and minoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. On campus, Annabella is involved with the University at Buffalo chapter of Phi Alpha Delta as its Professional Chair, works as the student assistant for the Vice President of Student Life, and is involved with UB's Student Engagement office as an Alternative Break Team Leader, among other activities. Off campus, Annabella works as a legal intern at The Coppola Firm in Amherst, New York. Annabella plans on pursuing a career as a lawyer in Buffalo, and spends her time outside of the classroom exploring her city, spending time outdoors, and performing/listening to music.
Originally from the Bay area, Astha is a senior double majoring in Media Studies and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Interested in the intersection of advocacy and art, she is the Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity at UB Student Association, and an Ambassador for the Media Studies department. She plans to attend law school in the future to pursue a career in policy making and advocacy.
Sarah Verwij-Wood is a graduate student in the Masters in Public Health Program with a concentration in community health and health behavior through the University at Buffalo. Sarah has presidential standing in The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). She is an alumna of SUNY Geneseo and has a passion for working and advocating for the aging population while having extensive experience in the nursing home and subacute rehabilitation sectors. She would like to pursue a career in elder advocacy, policy, and resource education. Sarah is also an avid animal lover and fur-mom to two cats and a bunny.
Jessica S. Kruger, PhD, MCHES, is a health educator whose research focuses on consumption and addictive behaviors, health behavior decision-making and pedagogy in public health. She collaborates with a wide variety of community-based organizations and advises students at the Lighthouse Free Medical Clinic and the Seneca-Babcock Community Center, both in the Western New York area. Kruger is the vice-chair of the board of directors for the Society of Student-Run Clinics and focuses on increasing the interprofessional collaboration in free clinics around the U.S. She also serves as a member of the leadership team of Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice at UB. Most recently, Kruger has been named a 2021 SUNY Online Ambassador for her enthusiastic, effective virtual teaching and advocacy of online education in the SUNY community. She recently joined the editorial board for the journal Pedagogy and Health Promotion.
